We were recently called out to assist a customer in Dee Why (Northern Beaches) whose 15-year-old electric storage hot water system had started leaking. Understandably, she was worried about water damage and the sudden loss of reliable hot water, particularly because she lived in a unit and didn’t want to flood her apartment and the one below.
The challenge? Her hot water tank was installed inside a very tight cupboard in her unit, leaving barely any room to move.
To safely remove the old hot water system, we had to carefully remove part of the door jamb and the cupboard door itself just to create enough clearance. Once the space was opened up, we could finally extract the old leaking system and prepare for the installation of a new one.

With the cupboard clear, we were able to supply and install a new slimline Rinnai 250L electric hot water system for the customer. The compact, space-saving water heater design made it the perfect fit for the confined cupboard, while still providing excellent capacity for the customers hot water usage requirements.
The customer was thrilled to have everything back in place (including the door jamb and cupboard door) with her brand new ater heater neatly installed and ready for use. No more leaks, no more stress, and trouble free hot water again.
The customer will also likely notice a reduction in her hot water bills, as modern systems are far more energy efficient thanks to significant technological advancements made over the past 15 years since her old unit was installed.
