This customer in Bilgola Plateau on Sydney’s Northern Beaches was about to start a major home renovation and wanted their old hot water system moved from it’s current location under the house to a new spot outside in a disused side area.
Hot water system upgrade
Whilst onsite, the customer explained that they were regularly running out of hot water now their kids were older and started taking much longer showers. Their existing hot water system was around 20 years old, energy inefficient and was obviously too small for a growing family.

Moving the hot water system to a new location

To support the new hot water tank we installed a concrete slab against the wall.

- Isolate the electrical supply to system and retest at system with external device.
- Drain and remove the old electric hot water system.

- Install a new tempering valve to comply with AS3500 Plumbing code.
- Reconnect to existing power circuit.
- Install new pipework and connect to the new hot water system.
- Commission and test the new hot water heater.
- Dispose of and recycle the old old electric hot water tank. Clean up the site and dispose of any associated rubbish.
