Late on a Friday afternoon, we received a call from a customer in Balmain (Inner West) whose Thermann electric water heater had stopped working. They had absolutely no hot water!
Under normal circumstances, this would be frustratingly inconvenient for the homeowner, but in this case, it was urgent because she had new tenants moving in that night… Reliable hot water wasn’t just important; it was essential!
Fast response to an emergency water heater repair.
We arranged to attend the home within the hour to diagnosed the problem.
After running some diagnostic checks, we were able to determine that the heating element had failed. With our trucks stocked with thousands of replacement parts, we were able to replace the faulty heating element with a new one and the water heater was back up and running. Needless to say, the customer and homeowner was ecstatic that she could welcome her guests without the stress of a cold shower situation.

A preventative water heater service for peace of mind.
While on site, we also performed a full service on the customer’s hot water system. This includes checking valves, thermostats, electrical components, and the overall performance of the system. Not only does preventative maintenance like this extend the life of the water heater but also helps prevent breakdowns at critical times (like when you’re running an Airbnb with back-to-back bookings).

Common emergency water heater repairs
Every day we’re assisting customers throughout Sydney with emergency water heater repairs. Below is a list of common reasons why your water heater is performing as it should.
- Hot water temperature fluctuations: If your water runs hot and cold, the thermostat or heating element may be failing. Our trucks are stocked with parts for all systems so we can repair it immediately.
- Leaking water heater: Pooling water around your tank can lead to damage or electrical hazards. If the system can’t be fixed, we can replace it on the spot so you have hot water again tonight.
- No hot water: Sudden loss of hot water often means an issue with the thermostat, element or power supply. We’ll find the cause fast and fix it on the same visit.
- Strange noises: Banging or hissing sounds can mean sediment build-up or pressure problems. We’ll service and clean your system to prevent further damage.
- Gas leak or gas smell: If you smell gas near your system, turn off the gas supply and call us immediately. Our team handles urgent gas leak repairs safely and efficiently.
- Discoloured or rusty water: Rusty or orange water may mean the tank is corroding. We’ll inspect the system and recommend the best repair or replacement options.
- Pressure build-up: If the pressure relief valve keeps leaking, your system may be under dangerous pressure. Call us immediately for assistance.
If you’re encountering any of these problems, contact us for advice. We can often troubleshoot the problem over the phone.
