Hot water heater installers Ingleburn / Campbelltown
We received an urgent call from a customer at Ingleburn, in the Campbelltown area, whose old hot water system had started leaking. The hot water tank was located in an internal laundry so the job was elevated to emergency hot water repair, requiring assistance ASAP.
Whilst our local Campbelltown hot water specialist made his way to the Ingleburn property, over the phone our hot water specialist, John, instructed the customer how to turn off the water supply and additional steps they could take to prevent further damage.
Within the hour, our local Campbelltown hot water specialist was onsite at the property.
Why the hot water heater was leaking
Unfortunately the old hot water tank had corroded internally and, hence, started leaking. This is a common problem with older hot water systems that aren’t serviced regularly. Typically, the internal anode corrodes and, over time, the tank rusts inside, cracks, and then leaks. A sign this may be occurring is that your hot water starts looking yellowy or orange. It can also have a metallic taste.
When the internal tank has rusted, there really is no option but to replace the entire hot water system. With older systems the parts simply aren’t available to repair them or, if they are available, it’s not cost effective to do so.
Upgrading to a bigger hot water system
After discussing the customer’s hot water usage requirements, we determined the most energy efficient and cost effective model was the Vulcan 160 litre electric hot water system (6D1160R7). This was a slight upgrade in size on their old hot water system.
Vulcan hot water systems are a high quality product offering great performance at a very affordable price. Vulcan HWS are made of quality materials using proven technology. The storage cylinder is made from high strength steel tough enough to withstand varying water and heating cycle pressures.
Many households change over time, so it’s important to make sure you select the model to suit your needs both now and as your family grows – this is where our hot water experts can assist. We take into consideration all household appliances such as washing machines and dishwashers, which can use as much hot water as one person. It’s also important to consider the changing needs of a family as small children grow into large teenagers.
The old electric system was removed and the new one installed in the same place in the laundry. Whilst onsite, we installed new tempering valve and duo valve to current Australian standards (AS3500 Plumbing Code).
Within a few hours, the customer was back enjoying trouble free hot water again and can how luxuriate in longer showers now the new hot water system is more economical and suited their household hot water usage needs.

Plumbers who do not specialise in the installation of hot water heaters may need to outsource the electrical work required to another tradesperson, thereby holding up your hot water system repair or installation, adding extra expense due to additional call out fees charged by employing two tradespeople.
Your hot water heater is an expensive appliance. Don’t risk voiding your warranty.
Additionally, most manufacturers won’t cover the terms of your hot water system warranty if it isn’t installed by a licensed hot water technician or qualified plumber. Hot water tanks are an expensive appliance so why would you risk voiding your warranty by installing it yourself or employing the services of someone who isn’t licensed?
