We can safely remove an old or broken solar hot water system from your roof.

Sometimes, when people upgrade to a new hot water system the plumber leaves the broken water heater on the roof. We do not advise this.

Rooftop solar hot water heaters are heavy. If not checked and maintained correctly, the equipment holding it securely in place can break down. If this happens, the whole system becomes unstable and is at risk of sliding off the roof. Additionally, in strong winds, parts can become dislodged and fly around.

We do not recommend leaving an old solar hot water system installed on your roof. Because it is not being used, it’s unlikely to be checked – it becomes a case of out of sight, out of mind. This is dangerous.
